Can more than one person read an ebook at a time? If not, how can I tell?
Most documents can be viewed by any number of people simultaneously.
However some ebrary ebooks are only accessible by one person at a time or “single-user”.
You can tell if an ebook is single-user by viewing the ebook using the QuickView tab.
If a button labeled “Release This Title” near the blue “ebrary reader” button is displayed,
the title is viewable by only one person at a time.
If you try to view a “single-user” ebook and
it is in use, a pop-up message appears, enabling you to put yourself on a waiting list for the ebook.

Who can access an ebook?

I am getting extra/blank pages when I print. What can I do?
Try another browser. Ebrary highly suggests using the Safari browser for printing, if you are using a Macintosh. On a pc or machintosh, there are some known issues when printing with Firefox that result in extra pages printing.

Ebrary prints a different page than the one I selected. What’s going on?
QuickView displays two types of page numbers on the right side of the screen, above the table of contents area. The page number in the little box corresponds to the number printed on the physical page. The numbers in parentheses next to the box are the consecutive page numbers – the ones to use for printing.
When you view a page in QuickView and then select print (under InfoTools), you will see the consecutive page number of that page in the “Pages from …” box. So, one easy way to figure out the page range to use for printing is to go to the first page you want to print, select print and see what that page’s consecutive page number is. Then go to the last page you want to print and do the same. Then fill in the printing page range with those numbers.

Can ebooks be downloaded to my computer?

How do I download an ebook?
You must first create an ebrary account. Once you have an ebrary account, you can down-load either up to 60 pages of a book into a permanent PDF file or the contents of an entire ebook. An additional piece of software is needed to download an entire ebook, Adobe Digital Editions. This software is available for free online.

I am finished with an ebook. How do I check an ebook back in?
You don’t need to return an ebook that you downloaded. But since you can only have ten ebrary
documents downloaded as e-books at a time, you might want to return an ebook early so you can download
others. Early returns of downloaded ebooks are done through Adobe Digital Editions,
or an application (such as BlueFire) on your device. Returns may take up from
10 minutes to an hour to be recognized on Notre Dame’s
ebrary site.
